My name is Joelle, and I am an editor and writer. In my previous professional life, I was an English and French teacher. One skill from my teaching background that serves me well in my editing career is that I am used to staying focused while reviewing a high volume of text. My corporate and individual clients also appreciate my ability to manage competing deadlines.

My time working internationally has also given me experience in giving tactful, yet impactful, feedback to writers of varying levels of language proficiency. Additionally, my own linguistic background as a fluent French speaker and student of other languages has given me a particular level of empathy that my clients appreciate. 

As a lifelong learner, I am always eager to learn about the subject matter of the work I edit. However, it is always a treat when I can edit work about topics that fascinate me, such as education, learning, dance, and cooking.
